Vigna del Gal is a small company located among the hills of Prosecco Superiore Valdobbiadene Conegliano, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our story begins in this unique and wonderful setting.
In 1986, after the death of his father Guido Balliana, Italo inherited some small hilly plots of land cultivated with vineyards, in a renowned area of Prosecco Superiore.
In the early years, Italo delivered the harvested grapes to the village social winery, it was only in 1992 that, together with his wife Claudia, he decided to start vinifying his own grapes, thus giving life to the first bottles of Prosecco “col fondo” also called (Sur Lie), a wine refermented in the bottle, it differs from the classic method because it is not disgorged, that is, there is no escape of yeasts after refermentation.
As the years passed and the children grew up, new lands were purchased in very inaccessible and sunny areas, difficult to work but certainly ideal for obtaining an excellent prosecco.
Today Devid and Christian (the sons) contribute by carrying forward the same philosophy as their parents, committing themselves to protecting an extraordinary territory and to making people fully understand how Valdobbiadene DOCG Vigna del Gal is not just any product, but a fantastic experience.
